When a family goes wild
(all photos in this series were shot n the wild at MOLE, Ghana)
There was a time when I had lots of fans and enjoyed a bit of fame; and I foolishly mistook that to mean I had many friends.
One fateful day, however, I quit my job as a radio presenter. That was my peripeteia.
My moment of sudden change. Very slowly my phone stopped ringing.
I didn’t know my phone’s battery could last that long. I felt like yesterday’s newspaper in the hands of a glutton who just ate too much pepper. I learnt 3 unforgettable lessons:
1. TRUE FRIENDS ARE HARD TO FIND
2. NOTHING BEATS FAMILY
3. MOST PEOPLE LOVE YOU, NOT FOR YOU, BUT FOR THEMSELVES.
Today, I can list the most important people in my life on one piece of A5 paper and in large font size too.
I know who deserves my attention, my time, my money, my best and I have promised myself to invest in them.
I love my job, I love my clients, but I’d sacrifice any of them any day for the sake of my family and few true friends.
It’s okay to have loads of fans but only a fool thinks they are friends. Most famous people are actually very lonely people; and it doesn’t matter how well they sing or write about love.
These photos were made whilst vacationing with my family at Mole National Park as part of celebrating my wife’s leap year birthday.
Enjoy them and remember to invest in the right people. Don’t cast your pearls before swines; lest they weewee on it and turn and attack you.
