Zongo Beach aka Poor man's Beach

Yesterday, my good friend and fellow photographer Bobbie and I discovered this new beach right behind the Arts Centre in Accra. Most of the people on this beach were from Ghana’s plebeian class: The hawkers, the porters, the guys who sell on the streets etc. Considering how expensive the gate fee at La Pleasure keeps getting, it is understandable.
Enjoy the pictures and do have a great week.

Nice one Nana! You make ordinary people or situations glamorous. They shine and are beautiful.

The best part about your photos is the color! Whether actual color or the color of the subject matter... love these!

I absolutely love how you allow us to see the beauty in our country and the ordinary yet extraordinary lives of Ghanaians. This is how we as Ghanaians live!

I am SOO happy to have found your blog. I always see your photos floating around Tumblr. I love the picture with the girl with the nuts on her head. That's my laptop background. She looks like my cousin Adowa :-)
